There is a lot of fun to be had at Floyd Yoga Jam. It’s more fun to be clean and sober while pursuing a spiritual path than to be reactive, agitated, distracted, and/or adrift with compulsive behaviors and substance abuse.

Chitra Yoga Therapy

Chitra has been teaching yoga since 2003, a C-IAYT since 2014, and has her MSW focusing on trauma recovery. She uses the playful nature of Thai bodywork as a medium to understand our interconnectedness.  Every year Floyd YoJam is like a reset for her system. She loves being on the land and feeling it’s healing and reconnecting with FYJ family she sees once a year.  The feeling of love, acceptance and community is something she cherishes.

Bill Price & Tara Jeffers

Tara has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She creates acclaimed live soundscapes for many and diverse yoga classes and workshops. Bill has practiced various flavors of yoga for over 50 years with an understanding and teachings of yoga’s physical practices and darśana are informed by modern scientific research and yoga sanskrit scholarship. Their style is a coherent blend of medieval Kashmiri yogic practices & wisdom with modern somatic sensory-motor science – toward the recognition of an expansive mosaic of ‘Self’.

Bhav Brigade

‍Danielle (she/they) is a co-founder of Bhav Brigade, a donation platform of inclusive, accessible, and philanthropic yoga, based in Norfolk, Virginia. She teaches slow but strengthening yoga for all bodies. Danielle is trained in trauma-informed yoga, Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, myofascial release, yoga nidra, and yin and restorative styles.

Holistic Dante

Dante has been teaching for 10 years and his holistic health coaching is based on his experience in personal training, nutrition coaching, yoga, Qi gong, reiki, sound healing, and meditation. Since 2007, he has focused on teaching people how they can maintain a healthy lifestyle. I love sharing holistic health tools with others so they can take back the power to heal themselves. Yoga, breathwork, and ecstatic dance are potent ways to connect with one’s essence.

Dharmatherapies

Harrilyn has been a seeker and a teacher her whole life, from a solo trek cross country at the ripe age of 19 to teaching 41 years in a high school classroom. Yoga found her some years ago after some dark nights / years of the soul and the journey continues. After yoga teacher training and enriching certifications in meditation, yin, restorative, yoga for adolescents, and Yoga for All, she has now embarked on what has been a lifelong interest in astrology. Harrilyn sees the multicolored web of a long life beginning to weave together her ongoing interest in esoteric anatomy and the planets, underscoring the wisdom of interconnectedness.

Detra Bennett is a mom of 2 amazing kiddos and the owner of Down Dog Yoga & Wellness in Denver NC. She has been teaching yoga for 9 years and studio owner for almost 5. She has a gift and passion for teaching yoga and mediation. Detra’s style is vinyasa flow with a fun, creative and spicy flare! She loves incorporating Breathwork and meditation to make the practice full.

Devin began practicing yoga as a college student but didn’t get serious about it until 2014 when she committed to making holistic wellness a focus in her life. Devin currently works as the Studio Manager for In Balance Yoga and she teaches public yoga classes several times a week. She teaches Gentle Flow, Yin Deep Stretch, Hot Yoga and Flow + Yin Deep Stretch weekly.

Dr. Sundar Balasubramanian is a cancer biology and yoga researcher specializing in breathing exercises (Pranayama). He is the Founder & CEO of PranaScience Institute. Sundar’s Yoga research provided evidence linking salivary biomarkers and Yogic breathing. He is an author, teacher, researcher, and chanting specialist.

Elisha's Graceful Hands

Elisha Reygle is a Qi Gong Master with over 30 years of practice and play in the realm of Chi and healing arts. Elisha began teaching from her love for this ancient movement wisdom. As her teachers leave the earth, she feel a responsibility not only to keep the internal arts alive, but to help others find the whole life perspective of balance that she has been so generously lucky to have been taught.

Erin Sonn, M.Ed., E-RYT, YACEP, owns eat.YOGA.drink., which offers traditional yoga and mindfulness experiences in nontraditional spaces. Erin makes the practice accessible and fun EVERYbody. Gina Hart-Smith is an ERYT500. AHC, YACEP, student, teacher, minister, dancer, kombucha brewer, and Ayurvedic Health Counselor from West Virginia studied Hatha yoga, Kundalini, Tantra & Ayurveda with Judith Hanson Lasater, Katie Silcox, Lilias Folan, Marni Sclaroff, & Anna Pittman.Welcoming, inclusive, trauma-aware, compassionate, joyful, funny, respectful of practice origins, believing that yoga is for everyone.

She was introduced to yoga while she was attending college at VCU in 1996 by her meditation instructor as a way to help her focus and sit still for meditation. Heather has been practicing both yoga and meditation ever since. Yoga has had a profound impact on her life.

Radiant Heart Yoga

Jagadisha is a disciple of of Swami Nadabrahmananda of Rishikesh, India, a master of Nada Yoga, specifically North Indian Classical Music. Nada Yoga uses Raga (melody form) and Tal (rhythmic cycle) to help the mind be steady and the senses quiet. Jagadisha’s music is accompanied by harmonium, tablas, and tanpura.

Jagadisha believes when we teach there are moments when subtle awakening happen spontaneously. This reaffirms that everything is already inside everyone. It inspires him to see people wake up.  Sarah is a yoga and mindfulness teacher, Soto Zen student, potter, cyclist. She loves drinking tea in wild places.

Jill first completed a 200 hour teacher training program in 2016, a Level One Kundalini training in 2019, a 500 hour training program in 2020, and became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in 2020, working towards a Functional Medicine Coaching certification. Guiding people to health is her dharma! 

Joe Klein

Joe Klein, is the creator of a mindfulness-based addiction treatment program called Recovery Dojo. Joe also co-founded Inward Bound Mindfulness which teaches meditation retreats for teens and professionals. He teaches a graduate course on mindfulness meditation for counselors and teachers at Radford University. Joe has been practicing meditation since 2000.

Johnny Stowe is a Gaiaist yoga teacher, human ecologist, critical thinker, ecosopher, preserve manager and private landowner whose career has centered on restoring fire-dependent ecosystems with human’s oldest landscape management tool–prescribed fire. He writes and lectures on these things, and they are the center of his Sahyinidra Yoga.

Conscious Coaching

Jon is a life coach who teaches workshops on emotions, empowerment, trauma, and more all around the world. He worked for Radford University designing courses on confidence and leadership. He is a founder of SunSong Community and hosts Love Song, a 4 day, 300 person communal singing and dancing event.

OneTone Sonic Alchemy

Joseph is an Osteopath and teacher of holistic medicine, including the yoga of sound & vibration.
He frequently leads, retreats, workshops, and trainings around the world.
He is also part of OneTone sonic alchemy, and several creative arts projects, including Sonic Universe Now (SUN) and Primordium.

Upward Inertia

Kaelyn has been teaching hand-balancing, partner-acrobatics, acroyoga, gymnastics, and yoga for 11 years. Additionally, Kaelyn is a yoga therapist and the founder of Upward Inertia. She believes that through movement, we have the power to break down self-imposed limits and barriers, introducing ourselves to all that we are capable of.

Katherine Chantal & Colleen Redman

Colleen Redman is a Floyd County blogger who contracted and freelanced news stories, features and photographs for The Floyd Press from 2006 – 2021. Her poetry has most recently been published in Artemis Journal and Floyd County Moonshine. She is the author of several books of poetry, available on Amazon, and The Jim and Dan Stories, a memoir, which was used in Radford University classes for counselors that chronicles the grief process after the deaths of two of her brothers.

Katherine Chantal has been navigating her life through relationship and transitions. Being Mother, herbalist, healer, creator of life passage ceremonies and evolutionary workshops for decades, she comes to her elder years as an author of five books. She is a philosopher poet inclusive of depth psychology, spirituality and neuroscience.  Her poems have appeared in Artemis Journal and other regional publications and she is the author of several books, available on Amazon, including two poetry collections.

Katie Sutton and Josh Vogt of Zen Within Academy are a husband and wife musical duo from Charlotte, NC who combine meditation with sound and energy healing to support participants in finding their own ZenWithin. They are the founders of Zen Within Academy, a community supporting awakening souls.

Interweave Conscious Movement

Katie Wells M.F.A. plays the roles of Goddess Retreat director, life coach, dance artist, mother, and founder of Interweave Conscious Movement®. With the joy of teaching for almost 30 years, Katie guides experiences that some say have changed their life. Katie has a Masters Degree in Dance from CU at Boulder and is certified in both Spiritual Embodiment and Somatic EMDR Trauma Therapy. Her performances and workshops have been presented across Europe, Mexico, and the USA.

Kelly Blevins is a yoga teacher; exercise science grad; and US Air Force veteran living in Abingdon, Virginia. She is a sun-seeking adventurer looking to empower her students to discover their authentic self through movement and meditation. She teaches several weekly group classes at Whitetop Yoga.
